Start with the Year, Make, and Model filters, then read the fitment section on the product page carefully, because trucks need more than the model year. Bed length matters: a set for a 2009-2014 F-150 Styleside, for example, is listed for 67.0, 78.8, and 97.4 inch beds. Body style matters too, since Styleside and Fleetside are specified separately. Trim exclusions are the third thing to check, as some sets are explicitly not compatible with Platinum, Raptor, or dually configurations.

Rivet style, also called pocket style, has raised bolt heads set into pockets along the outer edge for a rugged, off-road appearance, and is available with either a textured or a smooth finish. Factory OE style follows the original body line with a clean, unadorned surface and looks like standard equipment rather than an add-on. Flat style, common on Jeep Wrangler applications, sits close to the tire and exposes more of the wheel for clearance on larger tires.

Rivet style sets need no cutting or trimming of the body, but some drilling may be required, and factory mud flaps have to be removed if your truck has them.
