I would like to give this product a better rating, but I cannot.
First the good. I really like the lights. They look real nice on my Jetta and work well. Upon placing my order, the lights were shipped very promptly and arrived well. No damage to the box or anything, so I could assume the lights were in good shape. Each light had its own box with foam to protect it plus a film over the lens. The lights fit perfectly and plugged in and worked right out of the box. That brings me to the bad...............
Now the bad.......................
I would really like to give this a 5 star rating but I cannot. First, the support I feel is bad. I put a call in and was told that that the team would get back to me. Left my phone number for them to call, and they never did. Second................ There is NO SCHEMATIC of the headlights, so one does NOT know how to hook up the fog lights. Yes there is a small, loose pigtail of wires that I assume is for the fogs, but NO INSTRUCTIONS or anything to tell you what they are. Yes they recommend a professional to hook up the fog lights, but I ask, HOW???????? I am VERY HANDY and can run a few wires and such. That is easy................ if I knew what wires are what. Third....................... The headlight mounting tabs have larger holes than the stock lights. So much so, the mounting screws ALMOST PULL THROUGH THE TAB. I took some small fender washers, ground the sides off of them, drilled out the hole in the center a bit, and made a washer that actually works well. See the pics. Again, nothing was noted in the instructions that one would have to do this. If one looks closely in the instructions, it looks like someone cut out the inner portion of the tab on the old headlights and retrofitted them in to the new headlights. You can easily see this. Fourth................ Per the instructions, there is NOTHING STATING HOW TO ADJUST THE LIGHTS. I had to figure that out as well. I just used a little deductive brain power on this. There are a few bolts around the projector light and fog light that are for adjusting. Again, perhaps that was easy to figure out, but it is NOT IN THE INSTRUCTIONS. Fifth........................ In regards to adjusting the headlight, again, there is NOTHING IN THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT TELL YOU THAT YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE THE HEADLIGHT TO ADJUST THE LIGHT FROM SIDE TO SIDE. The adjusting screw is soooo tucked up into the corner, you literally have to remove the headlight, adjust it, then put it back in to see of it is all good. BAD DESIGN (see pics). Also, seeing that I have a MK4 Jetta, I also have to remove the bumper to take the headlight out so that I can adjust it. That kinda makes me a little PO'd. Six.................. It would be nice to know that some of the trim pieces will not fit back in once these headlights are installed. The cover in the drivers side corner will not go back on as the projector cover sits back too far. You can see this also in the pics.
So in the end.............. I will say this. As for the actual product, I will give it 4 stars. They look good and work well with perfect fitment. 5 stars would be perfect and it is not. For the rest, I would probably only give 1 or 2 stars. It would be nice to know what one is getting in to before purchasing. Part of me wants to return them, but everything was done right on the company's end for the most part. There are some things that NEED TO BE UPDATED!!!! BIGTIME!!!!!!! As a whole I gave it 3 stars, and that would be rounding it up. Would I recommend this product??? Yes I would, but one needs to know what they are getting in to before purchasing.
Thank you.
